Praying through Mary is idolatry.

Praying through Mary is commonly done out of ignorance and deception. Over the years, religious authorities have corrupted the word of God. Continued disregard of scriptural authority ultimately led to the alienation of Christ’s Lordship from the church. Ultimately this meant that the Holy Spirit too had been grieved. His place was no longer found in the church. This alienation came with a resultant effect in that the void left was taken over by pagan practices and man’s tradition. In as much as Praying through Mary is unscriptural, its a glaring evidence that dark forces are in active duty.

One way of distracting a person from achieving his goals is by giving him wrong directions. That’s what religion does. Millions of souls are headed the wrong way because of false doctrine. As the gatekeepers and watchmen that God has ordained, we are tasked with spreading the light of Christ. It’s only His light that can illuminate the darked hearts of men and bring life into their souls. Let us look at solid reasons as to why praying through Mary is unbiblical.

Prayer must be done in the right way.

  • Our prayer should be according to the will of God. This means that the motives should be right before God according to will for us.

1 John 2:17. “And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth forever.”

Hebrews 10:36. “For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.”

  • Secondly, we must come before God in truth and in Spirit. As God is Holy, we must be repentant and righteous. Furthermore, the prayer of a sinner is as abomination before Him.

Proverbs 15:8. “The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD: but the prayer of the upright is his delight.”

John 4:23,24. (23) But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

(24) God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

  • Prayer can only be through Jesus Christ who is exalted and glorified.

Prayer can only be through Jesus Christ who is exalted and glorified.

It can’t be emphasized enough that Our Father brought salvation in Jesus Christ. By death and shedding His blood on the cross, Jesus Christ saved the souls of men who would believe in Him.

John 1:29. “The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.”

John 3:16. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

It is only through remission of sins by the blood that we find redemption,

Matthew 26:28. “For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.”

Lack of biblical knowledge and the influence of false preachers has led many people to commit idolatry. Our Heavenly Father having glorified Christ made Him our ONE and ONLY intercessor. Jesus Christ who now sits at the right of hand of God is our only mediator.

John 15:16. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go forth and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give it to you.

John 16:23,24. (23) ‘’And in that day you will ask Me anything. Most assuredly, I say to you, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give it to you.(24) Until now you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.

1 John 4:9. “In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.”

4. His name is above ALL powers, principalities and rulers of the darkness.

Philippians 2:9-11. (9) Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

(10) That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

(11) And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

5. Jesus Christ was glorified by the Father, as He was obedient till death, was resurrected and sits on the right hand of God. In this, the Father too was glorified in Christ.

John 12:16. “These things understood not his disciples at the first: but when Jesus was glorified, then remembered they that these things were written of him, and that they had done these things unto him.”

(10) That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

(11) And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

7. Demons know Him as the Christ, Messiah and know that He has powers over them.

James 2:19. “Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.”

Mark 1:23-25. (23) And there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit; and he cried out,

(24) Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God.

(25) And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him.

Luke 4;33-35. (33) And in the synagogue there was a man, which had a spirit of an unclean devil, and cried out with a loud voice,

(34) Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art; the Holy One of God.

(35) And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him. And when the devil had thrown him in the midst, he came out of him, and hurt him not.

8. There are no multiple channels through to God. It is only in Jesus Christ that we come to the Father.

11. He knows our needs even before we ask in prayer.

Matthew 6:8. “Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.”

12. All the dead will hear His voice. The souls of the dead are subject to Him as the Alpha and Omega.

John 5:25, 28. (25) “Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.”

(28) “Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,”

13. Only Jesus Christ has seen the Father and is at His right hand interceding for us.

Romans 8:34. “Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.”

John 6:46. “Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father.”

14. It is only in Jesus Christ that we receive the Holy Spirit. We pray in the Spirit.

John 7:38,39. (38) He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

(39) But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.

John 14:16. “And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever;”

John 16:7,8,13. (7) Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.

(8) And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:

(13) Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

15. Jesus Christ, the lamb of God receives worship and adoration to the glory of God.

John 9:35-38. (35) Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found him, he said unto him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God?

(36) He answered and said, Who is he, Lord, that I might believe on him?

(37) And Jesus said unto him, Thou hast both seen him, and it is he that talketh with thee.

(38) And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshipped him.

Matthew 2:1,2. (1) Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, (2) Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.

16. All judgement was given to Him. The Father executes Judgement in Him.

John 5:22,27. (22) For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:

(27) And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.

17. The apostles preached and prayed only in the name of Jesus Christ.

When Jesus asked the disciples who they thought He was, apostle Peter out of inspiration of the Holy Spirit said that He was the Messiah, the Christ. Undoubtedly, the disciples rightfully exercised the power in the name Jesus Christ in preaching, praying, baptizing, healing and casting out devils.

Acts 3:1-7. (1) Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour.

(2) And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple;

(3) Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms.

(4) And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us.

(5) And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.

(6) Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

(7) And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.

Acts 8:14-17. (14) Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:

(15) Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:

(16) For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)

(17) Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.

Acts 9:33,34. (33) And there he found a certain man named Aeneas, which had kept his bed eight years, and was sick of the palsy.

Acts 16:16-18. (16) And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying:

(17) The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation.

(18) And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.

18. Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ pointed authority to Jesus.

In Cana during the wedding, when wine run out Mary looked upon Jesus Christ. This was not just an ordinary circumstance. Mary knew who Jesus Christ was. Angel Gabriel visited her with the news about the virgin birth of the Messiah, Emmanuel. Emmanuel which meant God with us.

John 2:3-5. (3) And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine.

(4) Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come.

(5) His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.

It is our prayer that the Lord will open the eyes of those who pray through Mary or the Saints. For they commit idolatry out of ignorance. May the Lord bless those who will be enlightened after reading this teachings, to the glory of God.

19. Mary is not omnipresent.

Millions of people pray at any one time in the world. All those prayers need to be received and even answered as the Lord wills. Therefore, only a god who is able to receive millions of prayers at any one time can be said to have the authority. Mary does not have this power or authority. It is only the Father in Jesus Christ who has the power and authority as He is omnipresent.
